colorful vintage circus wedding

i am completely smitten with this bright, fun and lovely wedding shot by Amelia Lyon Photography. Heather and James had a beautiful southern california wedding complete with a soda bar, a cotton candy station (i feel kind of awful for not doing this at my wedding- that's my husband's favorite treat) and lots of balloons and little dot buntings. i about died when i saw the pic of them kissing across the table with the tent all lit up. isn't that gorgeous?

and i absolutely adore Heather's sash. feathers... flowers ... gorgeous bold colors. perfection!

this couple pulled off a vintage circus theme without looking cheesy. not such an easy task. i especially loved that Amelia Lyon described how her whole family came together to pull this wedding off (Heather is her cousin)- from the flowers, the food, the cake, the photography (obviously) and even the DJ was all family. Isn't that the way to do it?

congrats Heather and James- your wedding was delightful!

1920's engagement

i love the romanticism of the 1920's. my grandparents fell in love in the 20's and i always ask my grandma about their courtship... letter writing, drawn-on nylons (on my grandma, not grandpa) being separated by war... it all seems so romantic to me, magical even.

so naturally i fell in love with this engagement shoot from Rebekah Westover Photography found via Ruffled Blog. what makes this session even more perfect is that the bride to be is wearing her grandma's wedding dress. literally picture perfect.

lemonhead invite

i just discovered upon this adorable invite by Jordan Ferney of the wildly cute blog: Oh Happy Day! she is an event planner, designer, letterpress master, and collector/curator of all things drool-worthy. these invites are for a baby shower but doing it for a wedding invite would be so dramatic & awesome.

peonies

spring has sprung and i don't think i could be any more excited.
the change in the weather has us getting our bikes serviced to enjoy more leisurely family bike rides and me dreaming of a garden filled with herbs and flowers (oh, apartment living)
i love peonies. they have got to be my favorite, especially for spring and summer weddings.

Love this do it yourself wedding banner, the letters remind me of typewriter keys. Perfect for those vintage inspired weddings this season! You can get the templates for the letters HERE.

courthouse wedding!

maybe you're one of those brides who's had enough wedding planning. you're ready to pull your hair out and throw in the towel and just elope, and have a simple, quiet courthouse wedding with a justice of the peace. that's what this couple did. maybe a big wedding just isn't for you! but it doesn't mean you can't do it in style. this couple looked amazing for their small ceremony. thanks to melissa from fresh in love for sending these over!

non pareil magazine

have you checked out the online magazine non pareil?
it is truly lovely- i just can't get enough of their design asethtic. it's like walking into your favorite clothing store... "i'll take one of each please" that's how I feel about their fabulous wedding ideas and vendors. Everything in their magazines is meticulously selected and it really shows.

They even have a download section with printables like these adorable favor boxes.
favor-box

i'd fill these with white chocolate popcorn, cotton candy or maybe even a mini pot and some herb seeds.

have a fabulous weekend & see you back here next week <3
